If you’re a Francophile and want to practice your French, swing by the French Club at Zuzu’s Petals in Inman Square, Cambridge. Every Tuesday from 7-9 p.m., this cozy wine and dessert bar hosts a friendly get-together for French speakers of all levels. Come for conversation and a glass of wine, French of course. They have a rotating selection of organic or biodynamic wines. Pair them with some cheeses or delicious treats made by co-owner, pastry chef, and chocolatier Alexandra Whisnant. Try her buckwheat galettes, Breton-style. She also whips up intensely rich chocolate mousse topped with whipped cream, and churns ice cream, both made with raw eggs in the traditional French way. Her expertise comes from her training at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. She interned at the famous Parisian macaron shop Ladurée, and worked at Chez Panisse in Berkeley, Calif. Whisnant and her partner, Bobby MacLean, opened the dessert wine bar two years ago. They both have a history of running food businesses — Whisnant with her chocolate shop Gâté Comme Des Filles, and MacLean with Picnic & Pantry. Zuzu’s aims to be a lively, intimate European-style café. During French Club nights, they play French music from records found at Paris flea markets. Zuzu’s has a no-cellphone policy, but don’t worry when you’re at a loss for a word or two. Whisnant says, “A dictionary and a grammar book will be available for reference.’’ 204 Hampshire St., Cambridge, 617-945-7749,
