Breanna Braham
Dennis-Yarmouth, senior The senior won the 55-meter dash (7.18) and 300 (39.54) at the Division 5 state meet, took the 300 (38.94) at All-States, and finished second at New Englands in the 300. The Louisville-bound runner holds multiple school records.
Lauren Downer
Haverhill, senior Downer set program records in the 800, 1,000, and the sprint medley relay, posting a meet record (1:33.89) to win the 600 at the Merrimack Valley meet. The Tufts-bound runner won the 1,000 at the Division 1 meet and All-States.
Ciara Evans
Newton North, senior The cross-country All-Scholastic won the mile (5:01) at the Division 1 championship meet and the Meet of Champions. The senior helped win the distance and sprint medley relays at states with school records, and she’ll run at Providence.
Madeline Goncalves
Haverhill, senior The senior notched an undefeated shot put campaign in MIAA competition, capped off by victories at the Division 1 meet (41 feet, 8.25 inches) and the Meet of Champions (41-3). She placed 11th in the event (40-9.5) at nationals.
Greta Hammer
Needham, junior The first Gatorade Girls’ Cross-Country Athlete of the Year from Needham finished second at the Division 1 meet in the mile (5:00) and won the 2-mile (10:21) at the Meet of Champions. Hammer volunteers with School The World.
Nyrah Joseph
Billerica, senior A senior headed to UMass Lowell, Joseph claimed the MSTCA Indoor Pentathlon (3,559) in a school record-setting effort. She also took third place in both the 55-meter hurdles (8.31) and the high jump (5-4) at the Meet of Champions.
Nina Kyei-Aboagye
Sharon, junior The junior took the Division 2 title in the 55-meter dash with a meet record (7.09), won the 300 (39.7), and anchored the winning 4×200 relay team. The 200 Meet of Champions record holder, she won the 55 at All-States.
Giuliana Ligor
North Reading, senior The Cape Ann League MVP led the Hornets to a Division 5 state title with wins in the 55 hurdles, 600, and a runner-up finish in the 300. A two-time All-American in the pentathlon, Ligor will continue her career at Penn.
Lauren Quarm
Methuen, junior The junior won the 55-meter dash at states (7.06) and placed second at New Englands. Quarm’s personal best of 6.95 is third-fastest in state history. Her 4×200 relay team won All-States and set a program record at nationals.
Zoe Santos
Norton, senior The senior won the high jump in all 12 MIAA meets she entered, culminating in wins at the Division 4 championships (5 feet, 4 inches) and the Meet of Champions (5-6). Her season best came at New Englands (5-7).
Macey Shriner
Plymouth North, senior A six-time Patriot League MVP between track and cross-country, Shriner claimed the 600 meters (1:30.54) at the Meet of Champions in a meet record and also won the 1,000 (2:51.46) at the Division 2 meet. She will run at Penn State.
Nialonis Smith
New Bedford, junior The junior claimed the weight throw (46 feet, 9 inches) and set a record at the Meet of Champions, and placed third in the shot put (34-11) at the Division 1 championships. At nationals, she was seventh (46-11.75) in weight throw.
