For the fourth straight season, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum earned a spot on the All-NBA First Team.
In 72 regular-season games, Tatum averaged 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, and a career-high 6.0 assists.
Tatum’s selection makes him the fifth Celtics player to earn at least four first team honors, joining Bob Cousy (10), Larry Bird (nine), John Havlicek (four), and Bill Sharman (four). He is the first Celtic since Bird (1980-88) to earn at least four straight selections to the first team.

Tatum was also a third team selection in 2019-20.
Joining Tatum on the first team were Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who was named NBA MVP on Wednesday, Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo made it for the seventh straight year, Nuggets center Nikola Jokic made it for the fifth time, and Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell was the lone newcomer from last year’s team.
Tatum, Gilgeous-Alexander, Jokic, and Antetokounmpo were all unanimous selections.
Antetokounmpo has nine appearances on the All-NBA team, Jokic is a seven-time All-NBA pick, Gilgeous-Alexander has been named to the first team in each of the last three seasons, and Mitchell is All-NBA for the second time in his career.
LeBron James of the Lakers is an All-NBA player for the 21st time in 22 seasons after making the second team.
Also on the second team: the Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards, Cavaliers’ Evan Mobley, Warriors’ Stephen Curry, and Knicks’ Jalen Brunson.
Curry made All-NBA for the 11th time, something only 21 players in NBA history have done. Edwards and Brunson are two-time All-NBA players, and Mobley, the defensive player of the year, made a team for the first time.
The Pistons’ Cade Cunningham, Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton, Clippers’ James Harden, Knicks’ Karl-Anthony Towns, and Thunder’s Jalen Williams were named to the third team.
Harden is an eight-time selection, Towns is a three-time pick, Haliburton made a team for the second time, and Cunningham and Williams both are All-NBA for the first time.
