The tiniest patients wore their holiday best for these photos.

The babies in Boston Medical Center’s Newborn Intensive Care Unit got everyone into a festive spirit when they donned their finest holiday apparel and posed for their first Christmas photos.

Boston Medical Center officials said the hospital’s tiniest patients “put on their holiday best, bringing smiles to families and staff alike.’’

Hospital officials said the holiday decorations were provided by the March of Dimes, the outfits were donated by Project Sweet Peas, a nonprofit organization that supports families with infants in the NICU, and Boston Medical Center NICU manager Donna Stickney and her family hand-knitted the Santa hats worn by the babies.
