I’m making a list.
And checking it twice.
So many folks warm-hearted and nice.
Thank you all for helping – this year.
Love to all of you,
Globe Santa
Donations are still coming in, but Globe Santa is thrilled to report a spectacular year, with 7,500 donors to the campaign so far.
The Postal Service delivered every single gift box to the 16,282 families who requested one. This means a total of 27,832 children, in 201 cities and towns across Greater Boston, were able to enjoy toys, books and games from Globe Santa this season.
Donations to date have totaled more than $1.5 million — ahead of last year’s record pace.
None of this could have been accomplished without the participation of countless individuals and organizations. The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) helped us identify recipients and validate their needs, together with 92 social service agencies and faith-based organizations.
We are immensely grateful, too, to the toy and book selectors, book publishers, letter-readers, Spanish translator, donations manager, packagers, delivery truck drivers, marketing, creative and social media teams, writers, editors and designers for the Globe’s print and digital operations.
And we send our utmost thanks to all the community members who donate to the Globe Santa fund — individually and through creative fund-raising events — to help these children and remind them they are valued.
Thank you all, so very much.
For 69 years Globe Santa, a program of the Boston Globe Foundation, has provided gifts to children in need at holiday time. Please consider giving by phone, mail, or online at globesanta.org .
