All-Scholastics - boys' hockey (athlete of year)

Joe Goldstein Jr.

St. John’s Prep, junior Armed with a high-level hockey IQ and quick feet, Goldstein’s 21 assists led the team and helped power the Eagles. He added six goals and was a Catholic Conference All-Star. The Lexington resident has played varsity for three years.

Drew Karlovits

BC High, sophomore A two-time Catholic Conference All-Star, the Cohasset resident dazzled with a 1.22 goals against average and a .959 save percentage. A 2024 draft pick of the Jersey Hitmen in the NCDC futures draft, he has a 3.4 GPA.

Daniel Menyalkin

St. John’s (Shrewsbury), senior A force in the playoffs, Menyalkin tallied back-to-back overtime winners in the quarterfinals and semifinals as the No. 14 Pioneers (12-13) reached the D1 final. Committed to Bowdoin, he posted a team-high 28 points in 19 games.

JP Messuri

Arlington, sophomore The Middlesex Liberty co-MVP put his stamp on every game, finishing with 22 goals and 30 assists. A two-time All-Scholastic and two-time Middlesex All-Star following a 44-point freshman season, Messuri is an honor roll student.

Nolan Dawson

Billerica, senior A MV/DC Division 1 All-Conference selection, the captain clinched Billerica’s first state title since 1977 with his goal in double overtime vs. Canton. With two assists in the final, the defenseman finished the season with 38 points.

Logan Poulin

Nauset, senior The two-time All-Scholastic and two-time Cape & Islands MVP paced the Warriors (24-0-1) to a Division 3 championship with an astonishing 53 goals and 85 points. He finishes his career with 189 points. He also plays lacrosse.
