Did you know it’s National Pretzel Day on Saturday, April 26? To celebrate, Chip City Cookies has come up with another pastry mashup — a Chocolate Chip Cretzel. Ever since New York City pastry chef Dominique Ansel created the cronut — a croissant and doughnut hybrid — the number of fusions is seemingly endless. You’ve got cruffins, croffles, cragels, crookies, tacrossants, and more. Chip City’s new marriage is a hefty 6-ounce creation: a flaky, buttery croissant with a crunchy pretzel layer, stuffed with chocolate chip cookie dough, baked until golden and then sprinkled with sea salt. The treat will be available only for a limited time — just two days, on Saturday and Sunday — at all Chip City locations. $7 each. Pick one up at Arsenal Yards, 104 Bond Square, Watertown; Harvard Square, 1 Brattle St., Cambridge, 617-256-2726; 316 Newbury St., Boston, 475-204-2026, and 97 Causeway St., Boston, 609-227-0122.
